Intro to Unix and HPC Computing

This workshop introduces foundational command-line skills and high-performance computing (HPC) workflows for reproducible bioinformatics research.

Topics include:

  • Unix shell basics and efficient terminal workflows
  • File systems, permissions, and process management
  • Remote access and data transfer on shared servers
  • Job scheduling fundamentals for HPC environments
  • Best practices for organizing and running scalable analyses
